Die Triangulation beschreibt ein Messverfahren der Displacement-Messsensoren von SICK. Ein Lichtfleck wird, z. B. mithilfe einer Laserdiode auf ein Messobjekt projiziert. Eine Empfangsoptik bildet die Reflexion auf ein lichtempfindliches Element ab. Basierend auf der Position des abgebildeten Lichtpunkts und der bekannten Geometrie lässt sich die Distanz zum Objekt ermitteln.
