Als Transmission bezeichnet man die Durchlässigkeit von Strahlung durch ein Medium. Wird dabei die Strahlung gestreut, so spricht man von gestreuter oder diffuser Transmission. Bei einer gemischten Transmission liegt gerichtete und gestreute Strahlung vor.
