At the distribution center of Brazils market leader in the clothing sector, Lunender, tops and other items of clothing are identified from the top: with ICR880 image-based code readers - supplied and put into operation by SICK.
In 2011, SICK Brazil was commissioned by CSI, a local material handling company, to supply and put into operation two system solutions for Lunenders distribution center that feature ICR880 image-based code readers. Their task is identifying the packaged items of clothing on the cross-belt sorter from above, so that they can be transported to the correct transfer points and made available for shipment. Automation light grids from the MLG product family support the top reading:
They detect the height of the packages and adjust the focus distance of the image-based code readers within fractions of a second.

On behalf of CSI, one of the countrys top five intralogistics suppliers and system integrators with annual sales of 12.5 million euros, SICK Brazil not only delivered the image-based code readers ICR880 on time but also integrated them on location and handed them over in full working order. The reliability of the system solution and professional commissioning have already attracted interest by other Brazilian distribution companies in identification solutions from SICK. Lunender has already gone one step further, showing interest in having the reading systems monitored and maintained by SICK LifeTime Services in the future as well.
