W280L-2 Long Range: the new laser photoelectric sensor with maximum sensing distance

Jan 11, 2013

In many respects, the new W280L-2 Long Range product family sets a new standard in laser photoelectric sensors. Its special feature is that extended sensing distances are now possible in laser class 1 as well. For the first time ever, the device involves a laser class 1 laser photoelectric sensor achieving a sensing distance of up to 3 m on black

Using an additional reflector can extend the sensing distance to up to 18 m. Thus, it is possible to do without safety measures stipulated for operating sensors in laser class 2. In every application, the W280L-2 Long Range achieves maximum availability - even in case of adjacent sensors, reflections, and ambient light from the background or object detection at an angular position.

Convincing user-friendliness - simple, intuitive, and fast

The user-friendliness of the W280L-2 Long Range is convincing and saves time: Connecting the laser photoelectric sensor, adjusting it via potentiometer, and putting it into operation is simple, intuitive, and fast. In order to increase variety in the application and reduce further costs, the laser photoelectric sensor is also available with two switching points that can be adjusted independently of each other. In this context, each potentiometer is assigned a separate LED display. This version is available as a reflector variant as well.

Flexible in application

Flexibility in application, one of the customers wishes, is further increased by the integrated light/dark switch. Moreover, the easy-to-install, rotatable M12 connection plug adapts to the respective conditions at the place of installation.

Top choice in many applications

The high-performance design makes the W280L-2 Long Range the top choice in many applications that demand extended sensing distances. Thus, the product family is just as much at home in storage and conveying technology for numerous monitoring and positioning functions as in detecting skids and tires in automobile manufacturing or in the detection of wooden and composite boards in the wood and furniture industry.
