Ultrasonic time of flight

When measuring distances using ultrasonics, a short, high-frequency sound pulse above the threshold of human hearing is generated on a cyclical basis. The distance to the object can be determined based on the pulse time-of-flight measurement for the sound between the object and the sensor.
