Reference input

Activating a reference or zero reset input sets the current measured value to zero. The previously measured value is stored as an offset in the sensor. The zero point of the measurement is now no longer the light emission point on the sensor, but rather any point within the physical measuring range of the sensor. This makes it easy to determine the shift in a measured value with respect to a virtual zero point.
