IQG Inductive Proximity Sensor Offers Reliable Detection and Adaptability

May 16, 2016
New sensor from SICK features four corner LEDs, rotating sensor head, and latest ASIC technology for reliable detection even in harsh environments

Minneapolis, Minn., May 16, 2016 – SICK (www.sickusa.com), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, encoders and automatic identification solutions for factory, logistics, and process automation, today announced the IQG inductive sensor for reliable detection in a wide variety of applications.

The IQG inductive sensors from SICK can fit into most brackets for easy replacement and less downtime. With the lowest manufacturing tolerances on the market, the customer or OEM no longer needs to readjust the sensor during replacement, which saves time. In addition, the four corner LEDs enable straightforward status monitoring, regardless of mounting position. Together, these features simplify installation and monitoring.

In addition, the new IQG inductive proximity sensor also features a sensor head that can be rotated in 5 directions, allowing the sensor to easily be adapted to suit a wide range of applications. With SICK’s proprietary Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology, the IQG inductive proximity sensor features ambient temperature range from –25 °C to 85 °C, excellent resistance to shock and vibrations, and electromagnetic compatibility. The IQG sensors can be placed in a wider variety of applications now with IP 68 and IP 69K enclosure ratings for operation in harsh environments.
